Despite the words of the player’s agent yesterday, Inter intend to keep Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez as a Nerazzurri player for next season unless a satisfactory offer comes in.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper are reporting that the reaction to claims made by the Martinez’s agent Alejandro Martinez that the player could leave the San Siro has been one of agitation at Inter, and the Nerazzurri expect that the player will not be sold unless an offer comes in which meets their €100 million valuation.

It is thought that Inter are still expecting to continuing to negotiate a renewal with the 23-year-old, and are offering an extension similar to the one which they gave to the player’s former agent.

The Nerazzurri are offering the Argentine a net salary of €4.5 million plus bonuses and the control of image rights to stay at the San Siro.

It is still believed that Martinez is happy at Milan and has not requested a move, so Inter expect to move forward with negotiations.

Inter are still leaning towards wing-back Achraf Hakimi as the player who will be sold to raise funds in this window.

At the moment the most serious pursuit of the Argentine do not come from Barcelona as the player’s agent claims, but from the Madrid clubs Real and Atletico.
