Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are both stepping up their pursuit of Inter wingback Achraf Hakimi and each is exploring the possibility of offering a player-plus-cash exchange, but Inter would prefer a cash-only deal.

Italian broadcaster SportMediaset are reporting that Chelsea and PSG are virtually neck-in-neck in the race to take the Moroccan away from the San Siro, as the two main contenders for his signature.

Chelsea have considered making an offer which includes Andreas Christensen or long-term Inter target Emerson Palmieri in addition to a fee in order to reach Inter’s valuation for the player.

PSG, meanwhile, could include Leandro Paredes, another player who Inter have been heavily linked to in the past.

However, it is Inter’s preference that any deal for the 22-year-old former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund man be a cash-only deal, and that any other transfers for players they may be interested in be separate deals.
