Inter could miss out on their target Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari to Roma, who are reported to be targeting the player.

This is according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda who report that Roma could present an offer to the Sardinian club which includes a higher fee than Inter’s, or offer players who the Rossoblu are more interested in.

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini is thought to be unsatisfied with Inter’s offer for the player as he considers it to be too reliant on sending players to Cagliari in order to bring Nandez to Milan.

Giulini is thought to prefer a larger cash offer for the Uruguayan over the player-plus-cash exchanges that the Nerazzurri are offering.

Roma on the other hand could convince the Sardinians to part with the player with a larger cash offer on the table.

The Giallorossi could also offer the likes of Mirko Caldafiori or Ebrima Darboe as part of a deal for the Uruguayan, players that Cagliari are thought to be interested in.

One other possible destination for Nandez could be at a Premier League club, several of whom may be preparing offers which would meet Cagliari’s €36 million valuation for the player.
