Emerson Royal has expressed a desire to stay at Barcelona despite links between the right-back and Inter in recent days.
The Brazilian sent out a message to Barcelona supporters in an Instagram story on his official page reported by FCInterNews, stating that he looks forward to playing for the Catalan club going forward.
“Hi Cule’s, right now I’m with with national team, but soon we will be together. Playing for Barcelona has been my dream since I was a child, now the dream becomes a reality.”
The player appears quite happy as he speaks, affirming his pride at the idea of being a Barcelona player and considering it to be the fulfillment of a personal ambition.
After returning to Barelona on a permanent basis in the summer, the 22-year-old is contracted to the Blaugranas for the next 3-5 years.
The Brazillian impressed during his loan spell at Real Betis over the past two and a half seasons, and it is thought that Inter would be interested in signing him as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi should the Moroccan depart.
It is known that Emerson’s agent Frederic Pena met with Inter officials yesterday about the possibility of a move to the Giuseppe Meazza.
However, Barcelona may also wish to keep the player in their squad.
The Instagram story would appear to indicate that Emerson would be happy at Barcelona and will not want to leave the club should they consider him a part of their plans.
