Despite reports yesterday that an agreement had been reached between Inter and Serbian winger on personal terms for the player to join the Nerazzurri, this is not the case.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Correire dello Sport, who claim that no agreement exists between the Nerazzurri and the Eintracht Frankfurt player.

The 28-year-old is thought to be a potential target for the left side of Simone Inzaghi’s squad, but the club’s interest has not yet reached the point of serious talks with the player.

Rather, the favourite to be signed for the left-sided role in the incoming Inter boss’s tactical system remains Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri.

Inter’s squad currently contains the likes of Ashley Young, Ivan Perisic, and Matteo Darmian, each of whom have played the left-sided role under Conte.

It remains to be seen which of these players depart, and the arrival of anyone meant for the role at the Giuseppe Meazza in the summer will likely depend on such outgoings.
