Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has shared his feelings about the difference between playing for Chelsea and Inter, saying that he has preferred playing for the Italian club.
In an interview with Belgian broadcaster HLN, the Belgian praised the Nerazzurri for helping him to fulfill his dreams as a player.
The 28-year-old was never a first-team player at Chelsea and left the London club first on loan and then permanently in search of greater individual and team success.
The interview gave a window into Lukaku’s thoughts on many subjects and showed fans some of his personal preferences, including the fact that the Belgian feels more fulfilled by his experiences in Milan than those with Chelsea.
In his first two seasons at the Giuseppe Meazza, Lukaku has finished second in Serie A before going on to lift the scudetto as a key contributor.
About his time spent with the Nerazzurri, the Belgian stated:
“I’ve won it all with Inter, something which was a childhood dream of mine. At one place [Inter] I was successful, and at another [Chelsea] I was a failure.”
Lukaku remarked on former Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, currently at AC Milan, as well, making the point that he backs himself as a better player than the Swedish legend.
“Between him and me I choose myself. Every day of the week. I love myself.”
