Alexis Sanchez could see his involvement in the Copa America reduced after he picked up an injury in the final training session before Chile play Argentina, according to a report in the Chilean media today.

As has been reported by TNT Sports in Chile, the Inter forward suffered some sort of muscle injury and will likely miss the first game against Argentina. It is no clear whether he will miss the first tournament or if it is something that will wear off after a couple of days.

The Chilean medical staff believe that the injury is down to general muscle fatigue because of the long season that players have endured thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Inter were hoping that Alexis Sanchez would perform well at the tournament so that teams will be interested in signing him this summer as the club look to reduce their wage bill by 15% and raise money from transfers.
