One of Inter’s big stars will be sacrificed by the club this summer so that the finances can remain in check heading forward, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport in today’s newspaper, it will likely either be Lautaro Martinez or Achraf Hakimi who are sold for a huge transfer fee which will allow Inter to then pursue their own targets.
Up until last week it looked certain that Achraf Hakimi would be heading for Paris Saint Germain, but now the Ligue 1 club are refusing to stump up the extra €20 million that Inter are asking for on top of the €60 million that the French club has already bid.
If any team is going to hijack that deal it will be Champions League winners Chelsea. They are only offering €50 million but are willing to involve players in the deal such as Emerson Palmieri or Mateo Kovacic.
As for Lautaro Martinez, La Liga looks the likely destination if anyone is to bid €90 million.
