Inter striker Romelu Lukaku expressed his feelings about Christian Eriksen’s ordeal after Belgium’s win over Russia last night, during a UEFA broadcast report.

Whilst being interviewed by a UEFA journalist after Belgium’s 3-0 win over Russia in St Petersburg last night, the Inter striker revealed that he was in tears when he heard what had happened to Denmark’s Christian Eriksen.

Towards the end of the first half of Denmark’s game against Finland in Copenhagen, Christian Eriksen collapsed. He was given immediate medical assistance on the pitch and then taken to the hospital for further tests. UEFA and the Danish FA then confirmed that he is in stable condition and is talking.

“For me, it was difficult to play today because my mind and my heart are with Christian Eriksen. My thoughts are with him, I was really scared. I hope he is well now. My thoughts are with him, his girlfriend and his friends. his three children.”

Romelu Lukaku scored two goals for Belgium against Russia last night and he dedicated the first to Christian Eriksen by shouting “Chris, Chris, I love you” into the camera during the celebrations. The third goal was scored by Thomas Meunier.
