Inter defender Milan Skriniar has discussed how scared he was about the condition of Christian Eriksen as he watched the game on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Slovakian broadcast media today.

Whilst speaking in an interview with the Slovakian Football Association, Milan Skrinair explained how scary it was to see his friend and teammate in such clear medical danger.

“We saw it here with the kids and we were very frightened. It was something terrible, even I was too scared.”

Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during his countries opening Euro 2020 game against Finland in Copenhagen. He was given immediate medical attention on the pitch, including CPR. He was then taken to the hospital for further examinations where UEFA and the Danish Football Association confirmed that was stable and talking.

The game was resumed and Finland went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal.

Milan Skriniar added that he hopes to see Christian Eriksen back on a football pitch soon, hopefully playing for Inter with him.

“I’m glad that in the end it went well and I think they will come back on the football field as soon as possible.”
