New transfer reports suggest that Barcelona are still interested in securing a deal for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez this summer despite seemingly turning their attentions elsewhere, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Catalan newspaper Sport via SportMediaset today, Barcelona still want to secure the services of the player they pursued so heavily back in 2020.

Reports from other media outlets today suggested that Barcelona had secured the signing of Lyon forward Memphis Depay, which meant the hefty transfer fee of €90 million would be far too much for the Blaugrana to pay for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.

If Barcelona are to make a deal work for the Argentine striker, it is very likely to include the young right-back, Emerson Royal.

He has been lined up by Inter as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi should his move to Paris Saint Germain or Chelsea go through as Inter hope it will.
