Beppe Riso, agent of Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi, has backed his client to have a successful third season at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in today’s print edition, Riso showed faith in the Italian midfielder’s abilities and optimism that he will overcome the setbacks of injury which have appeared in his career.

The 25-year-old has missed out on Italy’s Euro 2020 squad through a thigh injury, despite being in contention for a place in Roberto Mancini’s squad leading up to the tournament.

Sensi also missed large parts of the 2020-21 season through injury, leading to worries that his career could seriously be marked by absences and stalled progress due to injury complications.

However, the player’s agent predicted that the midfielder will be able to return to the form he showed when he impressed early in his Inter tenure as a key player in former manager Antonio Conte’s side.

Riso stated that “this last season is just a bump in the road, next year [Sensi] will have a great season and then a great World Cup.”
