Marcos Alonso has emerged as a key target for Inter in the upcoming transfer window, jumping ahead of Chelsea teammate Emerson Palmieri as a priority for the Nerazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claim that the Spaniard is now a top target for Inter to fill the left-sided role in new coach Simone Inzaghi’s tactical system for the upcoming season.

The former Fiorentina player is admired by the Nerazzurri and could be made first-choice in the left-sided position.

It is thought that Alonso would be requested ahead of Palmieri, as well as other players on offer such as Tammy Abraham, Davide Zappacosta, and former Inter man Matteo Kovacic as part of a deal to send Achraf Hakimi to Chelsea.

However, even in the event that Hakimi moves to PSG rather than to Chelsea, Inter are still expected to make a serious effort to bring Alonso to the Giuseppe Meazza in a separate deal.
