Despite rumours that Inter wing-back Ashley Young is set for a Premier League return with Burnley, the Nerazzurri man is in fact ready to accept the contract extension offered by Inter according to reports.

Italian media outlet FCInterNews claim that Inter are confident that the 34-year-old is ready to put pen to paper on a one-year extension despite links away.

According to FCInterNews a meeting between the Nerazzurri and Young’s agents is expected for next week that will finalize terms for the player’s continued stay in Milan.

The Englishman has made 59 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions since joining from Manchester United in January of 2020.

Young’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the month and he can leave for another club without a transfer fee being involved should he wish to.

Signed for former head coach Antonio Conte, it is thought that new manager Simone Inzaghi is also an admirer of Young’s qualities and wants him as part of next season’s project, having tried to persuade him to stay on.
