Lazio are thought to be formulating a plan to keep defender Stefan Radu at the club despite the interest of Inter, according to reports.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reported today that the Romanian is weighing up whether to accept an offer to join former Biancocelesti coach Simone Inzaghi at Inter or stay on in Rome.

It is thought that incoming Lazio manager would like to keep Radu as one of four center-backs in the rotation at the club.

However, after more than a decade at the club Radu could leave to be a part of Inzaghi’s project at Inter should he accept Inter’s one-year contract offer which is thought to be more than Lazio can offer.

The 34-year-old’s agent Matteo Materazzi (brother of former Inter defender Marco) is considering negotiations with Lazio president Claudio Lotito as a way to extend his career by gaining a two-year extension on his current deal.
