Inter target Rafael Santos Borre’s agent has confirmed that Inter are interested in the River Plate striker, and have opened up talks to try and sign him.

The 25-year-old’s agent Martin Araoz spoke to FCInterNews today, confirming that reported links between his client and the Nerazzurri have a basis in fact.

He explained how Borre has developed as a player during his time in Argentina, and expressed that he is not surprised that the Colombian is attracting transfer interest from top clubs in Europe.

Araoz did not make any predictions or talk about any concrete possibilities, but was open about the fact that the striker is open to a move to a European club.

Furthermore, he singled out the fact that Borre would consider Inter a viable destination, and explained that the club have made contact with him.

He talked about how Borre has improved as a player to become a high-level striker:

“Rafa is a player who has recently added to his qualities as a goalscorer the dedication to try and recover the ball when he is not in possession, thus becoming the first defender of the team.”

He explained that Borre and his entourage are well aware of Inter’s interest:

“I sent a message to Zanetti to understand whether Inter’s interest is concrete. When the opportunity comes up we will talk about it.”

Araoz stated that Borre is ready for a move to Inter if the club decide to sign him:

“Rafa is prepared and has the qualities to play for Inter, or for any top club in Europe.”

He continued by talking about his relationship with the player, which he characterized as one of mutual trust:

“We have a good relationship, one of trust and friendship. He asked us for help with some problems. As agents we are happy to help him. He no longer has contact with his old agent, he is now a client of Alfa Management and Caabase.”

On the question of the player’s preferred destination, Araoz explained that Borre is looking for a team where he feels valued and can play regularly:

“We will see what happens in the coming days with his sporting future. Let’s be clear that the important thing is that an attractive offer arrives, from a team where he can continue to be important, thus maintaining a high level so that he can be called up to the national team. The economic aspect is not the most important.”
