After unexpectedly collapsing during Denmark’s EURO 2020 opener against Finland and being rushed to hospital, Christian Eriksen has posted a positive update on his condition for fans.

After the worrying medical emergency experienced by the midfielder on Saturday, the post on his official Instagram account confirms that his condition has stabilized and he is in good spirits considering the circumstances.

The 29-year-old looks to be an a positive mood in the accompanying photo, smiling and giving fans the thumbs up despite being confined to a hospital bed for the time being.

The Dane essentially confirms what has been said publicly by figures in the Denmark national team as well as by Inter who have been in contact with the player, and what he is thought to have already confirmed to his teammates in a group chat.

Eriksen is in good, stable condition but the underlying causes of his health scare have yet to be determined and more tests will need to be done before he can be released, let alone before any decisions can be made about his future or health outcomes.

The post reads:

“Hello everyone
Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family. ♥️🙏
I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.

Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark 🇩🇰
