Christian Eriksen’s Inter career did not get off to the most spectacular start in the first calendar year that the Dane spent at the Giuseppe Meazza after arriving from Tottenham in January 2020.

However, the 29-year-old is a player with great quality and an excellent attitude, so many felt that it was only a matter of time before he cemented his place in the team, something that the midfielder talks about in an interview in the “I M TOGETHER” documentary on Inter’s official YouTube channel.

Eriksen’s growth into a major contributor at the Giuseppe Meazza was a matter of hard work, tactical education, and earning the trust of then-manager Antonio Conte.

However, the singular moment that caused many observers to take notice that he was beginning to fulfill his potential in an Inter shirt was the spectacular free kick scored against city rivals AC Milan in the dying moments of a Coppa Italia semi-final, winning the game.

The Dane talked about this experience:

“I’ve scored a few free-kick goals in my career, but I was certainly very happy with that one. Even just for the moment, scoring in a Coppa match in the last moments to qualify for a semi-final.”

“From there, the perception of me from outside changed. I think I showed that I am a player who can be relied on.”
