Lucien Agoume, 19-year-old French midfielder, looks set to renew his current deal with Inter to run until 2025, with only final details left to work out before confirmation can arrive.

Furthermore, the Frenchman could be a part of Inter’s first-team plans next season, according to reports in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The young midfielder had been expected to extend his contract for some time, but the potential that he joins the Nerazzurri’s senior squad for the start of next season would be a major career development.

Agoume spent last season on loan with new Serie A arrivals Spezia, where it was hoped that he could gain experience with the pace of Serie A football and grow in tactical understanding.

The midfielder made eleven appearances with Spezia, scoring one goal in the process.

With the Nerazzurri already showing faith in the youngster by extending his deal from 2022 to 2025, the club could go one step further by keeping him in Milan next season rather than sending him out on loan again to develop.

New Inter manager Simone Inzaghi’s record of developing young talent is good and he is thought to have approved of the possibility.

The possibility is also expedited by the fact that Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen’s future is in doubt and the club require midfield reinforcements for Inzaghi’s project.
