Ashley Young looks likely to leave Inter this summer, with the Englishman’s contract expiring on June 30, and the player ready to accept an offer to join a Premier League club.

This was reported by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier today, who claim that Burnley and Aston Villa are among the clubs looking to sign the 35-year-old.

Young is said to want a return to his home country for personal reasons, rather than because he is unhappy with Inter.

The Englishman joined the Nerazzurri in January of 2020 from Manchester United, and has been a favourite of former Inter boss Antonio Conte, making 59 appearances and scoring five goals in all competitions.

It is believed that incoming Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi admires the player and that the club offered him a one-year extension on his deal to be a part of Inzaghi’s project next season.

However, Young looks ready to make his decision, favouring a return to the league where he spent the majority of his professional career.
