Inter continue to await a response from Lazio defender Stefan Radu to their contract offer for the player, whose contract with the Biancocelesti expires on June 30.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport report that the player is still considering whether to accept the Nerazzurri’s offer or accept an extension to stay on in Rome, with an answer expected in the next few days.

The 34-year-old Romanian’s current deal is up at the end of the month, and he is targeted by the Nerazzurri as a rotation option for Alessandro Bastoni, having worked with new Inter manager Simone Inzaghi for five seasons together at Lazio.

Inter have offered a one-year contract to the Romanian, who would be an inexpensive option to ensure adequate squad depth for Inzaghi going into next season.

However, Lazio are determined to keep the player and have made their own offer, which the Romanian is considering.

The matter is expected to be resolved within the next few days.
