Inter and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to undergo more medical tests today, and will not be discharged from the Rigshospitalet.

Italian news outlet FCInter1908 report that more updates should arrive on the condition of the 29-year-old upon completion of the examinations.

It was reported yesterday that there was a possibility that the Dane would be able to leave the hospital today, but medical staff have decided that further tests are needed to ascertain the underlying causes of his cardiac event during Denmark’s EURO 2020 opener against Finland on Saturday.

Inter are awaiting further results and in constant contact with the medical team of Denmark’s national team.

The Nerazzurri are evaluating when it will be possible to send representatives to meet with the midfielder, but are hoping to whenever it is possible and safe to do so.

The outcome of exploratory tests could be crucial in determining whether and when the Dane is able to receive medical clearance to return to a football pitch.
