Inter are monitoring the situation of young Gremio center forward Ricardo Viana Filha, with the player having appeared as potential summer target for the Nerazzurri.

This is the claim of the player’s agent, Fernando Fernandes, speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

The 20-year-old, nicknamed Ricardinho, is seen as one of the most exciting young talents in Brazilian football, and could be set for a move away from Gremio for a European club.

Inter have been linked with the player recently, and Fernandes confirms that there is interest in bringing the player to the Giuseppe Meazza.

The agent is optimistic about his client’s future, explaining that he is a player with great potential to have a highly successful career.

According to Fernandes, Gremio have not yet made a specific demand for a fee, but he does not think that Inter have made an offer that is close to an amount that the Brazilian club would accept.

He compares Ricardinho stylistically to a player who Serie A observers will be very familiar with:

“Ciro Immobile. I would say he has the same characteristics as the Lazio player.”

He affirms that Inter have been watching Ricardinho’s progress:

“Yes, the scouts and Inter management are keeping an eye on him.”

Fernandes is optimistic about the ability of his client to make the move to an elite European club, and to have a successful international career:

“He has potential to grow and be a part of a club like the Nerazzurri. He will be Brazil’s next Number 9, from 2023.”

As far as Gremio’s valuation of the young striker, Fernandes is unsure:

“Gremio have not clearly defined [his valuation]. But I would expect no less than €20 million.”
