Former Inter midfielder Matteo Kovacic, now of Chelsea, has extended his wishes to Nerazzuri midfielder Christian Eriksen after the Dane’s health scare on Saturday.

The Croatian spoke in a video message made by UEFA, reported by L’Interista, talking about being emotionally affected by the 29-year-old Dane’s ordeal, and hoping to see him return to football.

The Dane’s collapse, during Denmark’s EURO 2020 opener against Finland on Saturday, affected not only Danish and Inter players and supporters, but the whole of the footballing world.

27-year-old Former Nerazzuri player Kovacic is among those players who were deeply affected by the near-tragedy.

He also wishes the Dane a speedy recovery on behalf of the Croatian national team, reminding fans that despite rivalries on the pitch at club and international level, there exists great solidarity and good will between players.

The Croatian expressed his initial reaction to Eriksen’s collapse:

“I must say that seeing you in that state shocked me a lot.”

He continues, extending the wishes of the Croatian national team:

“On behalf of the whole Croatian national team, we wish Christian a speedy recovery. May God be with him. Get well soon and good luck.”

“We would like to see you back on the pitch as soon as possible,” he closes.
