Former defender Leandro Rinaudo has talked about the differences between former Inter head coach Antonio Conte and new Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com, the Italian gave his thoughts on the type of manager that Inter can expect from Inzaghi, and how this will be a change from Conte.

The Italian is a former Serie A center-back, having made appearances for Palermo, Napoli, and Juventus, among other clubs.

His remarks highlight the need for Inter fans to be patient with new manager Inzaghi as he transitions the club towards his ideas and way of doing things.

The incoming Inter boss had never held a senior coaching position before being promoted to Lazio’s interim manager upon the sacking of Stefano Pioli.

The 45-year-old Inter coach surprised many by leading the Biancocelesti to excellent form, and building a long-term project which brought a long-awaited return to the Champions League to cap off his five year spell.

Rinaudo’s words on Conte:

“Conte has always done very well, abroad and in the national team. He did not have the conditions to grow even further at Inter so they decided to separate.”

In contrast, he says of Inzaghi:

“Inzaghi is different, he’s young but he’s shown he knows football and knows how to make teams play well. Inter have hired a coach to plan for their future.”
