Inter president Steven Zhang and managing director Alessandro Antonello met with Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala to discuss plans for a new stadium that Inter would call home.

Italian news service ANSA report that during the meeting, the Inter representatives affirmed the medium- to long-term commitment for the current Nerazzurri ownership to the club.

Sala stressed that this kind of continuity of ownership would be an important condition to the feasibility of a new stadium project.

Zhang also highlighted the economic boost that the new stadium would give to the city of Milan, with its strategic value to Inter as an economic institution valuable in the economic recovery of the city

The meeting took place at Palazzo Marino, set of the Municipality of Milan, and was cordial, with all parties intending to keep the dialogue on the project moving along.

Sala also noted the fact that he is an Inter fan, and expressed his congratulations and satisfaction at the Nerazzurri bringing the scudetto back to the city of Milan for the first time in a decade.
