Inter’s Romelu Lukaku has been named Man of the Match by UEFA in Belgium’s 2-1 victory over Group B rivals Denmark.

The organization tweeted to congratulate the Nerazzurri striker and recognize the quality of his performance in this evening’s exciting match.

Belgium went behind in the second minute of a first half that Denmark largely dominated, but in the second half produced a fine display to earn a comeback that takes them to six points on the group and confirms their place in the knockout round.

Lukaku was instrumental in both team goals, with the 28-year-old’s strong running and clever timing allowing the team the pass the ball around the Danish defense before Thorgan Hazard and then Kevin de Bruyne scored.

Lukaku expected to face his Nerazzurri teammate Christian Eriksen in this evening’s match, but the Danish captain’s unexpected collapse during Denmark’s opener against Finland on Saturday has ruled him out for the tournament.
