Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso is the preferred target for incoming Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi  on the left side of Inter’s squad.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claim that the Italian tactician prefers the 30-year-old Spaniard over other players linked with an arrival in the position.

Inter have been involved in negotiation with the Chelsea over the possible sale of wing-back Achraf Hakimi, and the London Club are thought to have put the possibility of giving Inter players as part of a deal for the Moroccan in addition to cash.

Alonso is one such player who the Blues would be willing to see depart, and Inzaghi would like him at the Giuseppe Meazza.

A left-sided player for the new manager’s squad is a priority for the Nerazzurri in the summer transfer market, and Alonso could be the solution to this search.

It is not thought, however, that the two clubs have come to any agreement on the valuation of Alonso with respect to his inclusion in a deal for Hakimi, with Chelsea’s rivals PSG also considering improving their offer for the Moroccan.
