Penarol winger and Inter target Facuno Torres has opened up about being highly impressed with the talents of Nerazzurri midfielder Matias Vecino.

Speaking to an official press conference for Uruguay’s Copa America campaign, as reported by Italian news site FCInterNews, the 21-year-old stated that he considers Vecinoto be a player whose qualities do not fully come through watching the player on television.

The Penarol man was asked which player in Uruguary’s squad surprised him the most when the national team gathered and started training together.

For Torres, the qualities of the Inter man came as a surprise, as he was familiar with the 29-year-old through watching matches, but found him much more impressive in person.

Torres has been linked with a move to the Giuseppe Meazza in recent days, though no concrete movement has made that would suggest is move is likely.

However, it is possible that he will soon share a dressing room with Vecino for both club and country.

Torres said: “The player who surprised me most for the Uruguayan national team is Vecino. I have never played with him before but I have seen him many times on TV, I’m amazed by his level.”
