Inter’s Valentino Lazaro is a doubt for the rest of the Euros, with the winger having suffered a muscle injury which could rule him out for the rest of the tournament.

The announcement was made by the Austrian Football Association, reported by L’Interista, that the player underwent an MRI which confirmed a muscle injury to the player’s right thigh.

Lazaro was not fit enough for the training session today in Seefeld, and in the afternoon the MRI was conducted in Hochrum, near Innsbruck, which revealed the injury.

The 25-year-old will have hoped to use this tournament as an opportunity to show his abilities, and the possibility that he could be ruled out of it will come as a setback.

Lazaro has not appeared in either of Austria’s two group stage matches so far, a 3-1 win over North Macedonia and a 0-2 loss against the Netherlands, and will miss Monday’s fixture against Ukraine as well as possibly any knockout matches should Austria progress.
