Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to be discharged from the hospital to rest with his family, but his future remains highly uncertain.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera outline the possibilities for the Dane with the Nerazzurri.

The first is that the playing return to the Nerazzurri that is hoped for could be on the cards for the player, which would be permitted if the defibrulator he had inserted yesterday is only temporary.

This is the optimistic scenario and would be the happiest outcome for all parties involved, with the player having been very much in the Nerazzurri’s plans prior to his health emergency and committed to the club.

However, as the Corriere outline, should the player’s implanted defibrulator be permanent, it is certain that his future will be elsewhere, whether this means leaving the Giuseppe Meazza for another club or retiring from football entirely.

For now the player is set to be discharged from the hospital and will fortunately be able to spend time recovering with his wife Sabrina and two children in Denmark.
