Torino striker Andrea Belotti has heaped praise upon Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella for his recent performances with Italy, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport 24, the Torino and Italy forward explained his admiration for the Inter midfielder from Sardinia.

It is no secret that Nicolo Barella has a very tenacious and aggressive way of playing football which means he is always giving 100%. That is something that Andrea Belotti has clearly picked up on during the current European Championships.

“What impresses most of all, personally, is Barella for his way of playing and for the personality he puts on the pitch in every match.”

Andrea Belotti also suggested that the last two years have been a crucial part of Nicolo Barella’s development. Whilst the talent was always there to see, he could be ill-disciplined and immature at times. In the Scudetto winning season just gone, he was a much calmer figure.

“A top-level midfielder, he has made an impressive leap in quality in the last two years.”

Finally, Andrea Belotti showed how excited he is about the quality of this Italy squad after they won their first two Euro 2020 games 3-0.

“I have always reiterated that in this group there are many talented young people. We have been playing and working together for years, I have known them well.”
