Bayern Munich have emerged as a competitor for the Inter in the race to sign PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries.

This according to German broadcaster Sky Sport Deutschland, who claim that for the moment the German champions are considering the player’s release clause to be too high.

Dumfries has been reported as a potential target for the Nerazzurri in recent days, with the Dutchman currently thought to be the top target to replace Achraf Hakimi should the Moroccan depart for PSG or Chelsea.

However, Inter could face opposition for the 25-year-old’s signature, with Premier League clubs reported to be monitoring the player as well.

Bayern could enter the race and would be a potentially enticing destination for the player, but it is thought that the Bavarians do not wish to make any more significant purchases this summer having made significant outlays to bring in defender Dayot Upamecano and new manager Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig.

As such, the Germans are not likely to be willing to pay the player’s €15 million release clause.
