Chelsea are starting to prep for the eventuality that Achraf Hakimi goes to Paris Saint Germain instead of them, by plotting a move for Adama Traore instead, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the winger from Wolverhampton Wanderers would represent a more attainable and much cheaper option for Thomas Tuchel’s side than Achraf  Hakimi.

Inter still maintain that they want €80 million for the Moroccan, but the most anyone has bid so far is Paris Saint Germain with €70 million. Chelsea have clearly decided that the deal may no longer be realistic for them.

Adama Traore is not as good a player as Achraf Hakimi but signing him would give Chelsea the opportunity to invest money into other areas of the squad rather than €80 million into one player.

Adama Traore would certainly be open to the move having had a poor season.
