Ashley Young’s new coach Dean Smith has been praising the winger after he signed for Aston Villa this week, according to a report in the English media today.

As has been reported by Tribal Football in England, Aston Villa manager Dean Smith is excited about what Ashley Young can bring to his side next season after he signed with the Villains this week.

“Ashley brings with him a wealth of high-level football experience at both club and international level and comes after having just won a championship in Italy.”

Ashley Young moved to Aston Villa on a free transfer, signing a one-year deal. He will be returning to the club after representing them between 2007 and 2011. He made 157 appearances during that time, and scored 30 goals.

It was his impressive form with Aston Villa that made Manchester United take notice and pay around £17 million for him.

Ashley Young’s main selling point throughout his career has been his versatility, which Dean Smith is clearly looking forward to having in his squad. The Englishman can play in both wings comfortably.

“He is a player who can fill different roles and, having talked to him for a long time, I know he is determined to make a mark with us this season.”
