Arturo Vidal wants to stay at Inter this summer but the club has no interest in continuing to pay his big salary given the financial situation at the club, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the Chilean has very little interest in actually moving away from Inter this summer despite quite clearly not being a part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans.

He currently earns €6.5 million a year from the Nerazzurri which is way too high for a player of his importance to the squad. Given Inter need to cut the player wage budget by 15% it makes no sense to keep Arturo Vidal around.

Some teams are interested in the ex-Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Barcelona midfielder, but his wage could make a sale difficult.

It is most likely that his future lies either in South America, Middle Eastern club or a move to China.
