The vice president of Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas has publicly denied any interest in signing Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to a report in the Spanish broadcast media today.

Speaking during an interview with El Deportivo, Besiktas vice president Erdal Torunogullari made it crystal clear that his side are not looking to make a move for Inter’s Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer.

“Honestly, we’re not interested in him right now. We haven’t even made a proposal to the player.”

Inter are actively awaiting bids for Arturo Vidal because selling him would go a long way to reducing the wage budget by the necessary 15% that is needed to help balance the books.

The situation is very similar for a lot of players in the Inter squad that are not in Simone Inzaghi’s plans, many of whom are playing at international tournaments this summer.

The club is hoping the players showcase their skills to prospective buyers, but it would appear that Besiktas are not one of those buyers.
