Ex-Inter player Fabio Galante has suggested that despite the uncertainty around the club following Antonio Conte’s departure, the future still looks bright for Inter.

Whilst chatting on Italian radio station 1 Station Radio, Fabio Galante suggested that Inter’s owners are in a stable condition and leading the club in the right direction.

The revelation that the club must raise €80 million from player sales and reduce the wage budget by 15% led many Inter fans to call for Steven Zhang’s resignation. It also led to the resignation of Antonio Conte who had just won the Scudetto with Inter.

“Now the situation has gotten a little jammed, there are economic problems, but the ownership remains solid and I am sure that a fund or an important partner will come to help. Of course, giving continuity to the technical project would have been better, but Simone Inzaghi did very well for Lazio.”

Fabio Galanti also passed comment on Antonio Conte’s abrupt departure from the Nerazzurri. He suggested that his reasons for leaving were valid ones, he felt he couldn’t compete in the Champions League with a weaker squad than the one he already had.

“Conte’s choice to leave was made in agreement with the management. We all know what Antonio is like, it is not the first time that, despite having a contract in place, he decides to leave. He is a great coach, he has won a lot and has valued many players, but if he left it is because he did not like something or did not have the right guarantees.”

Fabio Galanti made 55 appearances for Inter between 1996 and 1999, picking up two goals in his time.
