Inter youngster Lorenzo Pirola looks set to return to Serie B side AC Monza next season for another loan spell, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the 19-year-old centre back will be spending another season on loan at AC Monza where he enjoyed a successful campaign in 2020/21.

Lorenzo Pirola made 12 appearances in Serie B for the side now owned by Silvio Berlusconi, former Italian Prime Minister and owner of AC Milan.

The team surprised many by almost securing promotion to Serie A having only recently been promoted to Serie B. They were defeated in the semi-finals of the Serie B promotion play-off, which was eventually won by Venezia, the club where Inter forward Sebastiano Esposito has been on loan.

The loan deal for Lorenzo Pirola will apparently have an option to buy the player permanently for AC Monza, depending on his performances.
