Cagliari coach Leonardo Semplici has been publicly praising Radja Nainggolan as his club continues to negotiate the transfer with Inter, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

Speaking during an interview with Corriere dello Sport, the coach who had his position at the Rossblu kept intact after avoiding relegation explained how important it is to the club to finalise the signing of Radja Nainggolan.

“He is a player capable of shifting the balance and being able to have him immediately would be very important. The club is working and I believe that Cagliari has an ambitious president who, despite the difficulties that everyone goes through, will be able to set up a competitive team.”

The deal could be delayed for a while though because Inter still do not know to what extent Christian Eriksen will recover. If he cannot play for the Nerazzurri again, there is a chance that Inter will no longer want to sell the Belgian midfielder.

Leonardo Semplici actually discussed the incident involving Christian Eriksen, who had a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 game against Finland in Copenhagen. He is now recovering at home in Odense with his family and doctors for at least three weeks.

“Fortunately the boy is well and has recovered. I hope he will soon be able to trace the football fields even if I do not know if it will be possible. But these facts must make us reflect so as not to underestimate any aspect of health and pay attention to everything.”
