Inter’s Italian international midfielder Stefano Sensi has emerged as a target for Fiorentina in midfield, according to reports.

This from today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that La Viola have moved on to the Nerazzurri man from other targets in his position.

With the confirmation that Gennaro Gattuso will not be in charge of La Viola for next season, the club have prioritized the arrival of midfield reinforcements for the summer transfer window.

The club had been attempting to negotiate a transfer for Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira to the Artemio Franchi, but were unable to reach an agreement with the player’s agent.

It is thought that Sensi is the player who has come up as the key target after an agreement for the Portuguese midfielder was unable to be reached.

La Viola will want reassurances about the player’s injury history, with the 25-year-old having missed significant time last season through fitness problems.

It is also not known whether the Nerazzurri would be willing to let the player depart given the problematic situation in midfield created by the absence of Christian Eriksen for next season.

No concrete developments have been made regarding Sensi’s departure, but Fiorentina are hoping to begin the process of reaching an agreement for the player.
