Inter are close to wrapping up the signing of AC Milan’s Turkish international midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio who reports on his homepage that the parties are close to agreeing terms.

According to the report, AC Milan refuse to offer Calhanoglu more than €4 million net per season, but that Inter have offered more than that.

According to Italian transfer journalist Alfredo Pedullá, Inter have offered Calhanoglu €4.5 millio net per season with an additional €1 million in add-ons.

Furthermore, Di Mrazio reports that Calhanoglu is an important target for the Nerazzurri as he could become to Simone Inzaghi what Luis Alberto became for him at Lazio.

This report follows earlier reports from this evening where, Di Marzio reported that Calhanoglu will not extend his contract with AC Milan who in turn have decided to focus on trying to sign Mattia Zaccagni from Hellas Verona.

This in turn follows reports in Italian media in the last week that the former Bayer Leverkusen player’s agents had contacted Inter to discuss a transfer to the Nerazzurri after talks with AC Milan over a contract extension have not taken off.

Calhanoglu joined AC Milan from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017 and has since then featured 172 times across all competitions scoring 32 times in the process.
