Bologona manager Sinisa Mihaljovic wants to bring Inter defender Aleksandr Kolarov to Bologna, with the Nerazzurri player’s contract expiring at the end of the month.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 35-year-old could depart from the Giuseppe Meazza to join his compatriot Mihaljovic in Bologna.

It is thought that the Serbian has been offered a contract extension with the Nerazzurri, but that it would be on reduced terms from his deal with the club last season.

The player has not yet responded to the Nerazzurri’s offer.

Bologna are reportedly hoping that they can come to an economic understanding with the player, whose wages from the 2020-21 season are considerably higher than the club could expect to afford.

Bologna are also hoping for assurances on Kolarov’s fitness, with the player having missed portions of last season at Inter through injury.

Should Kolarov be willing to come to an agreement on his salary which Bologna would find suitable, however, it is thought that Mihaljovic is very keen on the former Lazio, Roma, and Manchester City man and would hope that Sporting Director Walter Sabatini is able to complete the deal.
