Reggina’s Sporting Director Massimo Taibi has opened up about how significant the signings of Lorenzo Gavioli and Rigoberto Rivas are for the Serie B club.

Speaking to Italian news outlet strettoweb.com, the Director explained that the two players will be valuable additions to the squad of the Calabrian club, and are deals which he had hoped would be completed.

Rivas joins Reggina on a permanent basis after spending the past two seasons on loan in Calabria, and it is thought that the club were very keen to keep the player.

Taibi confirms that the Honduran is a player who he had worked hard to sign, and is pleased that the operation to keep the player at the club was successful.

Gavioli, meanwhile is a player who spent last season on loan with Serie B side FeralPisalo, with Reggina having come in among club’s interested in bringing him on loan to win the race for the 21-year-old defender’s signature.

Taibi stated:

“Rigoberto is a market opportunity that I had been working on for months, while Gavioli arrives after spending a year at FeralPisalo.”

“We await the documents before signing, but we have done great business.”

Taibi closed by saying that “Some other moves like this cannot be ruled out.”
