Joao Mario is still attempting to leave Inter and find a new club after his move to Sporting Lisbon recently collapsed, according to a report in the Portuguese media.

As has been reported by Portuguese news outlet Record, Joao Mario was left extremely disappointed with the way Sporting Lisbon refused to meet Inter’s asking price for him.

The Liga NOS champions remained a few million euros short of his asking price and do not look set to come back with a new offer anytime soon. Joao Mario is not at all interested in renewing a deal with the Nerazzurri, so he has asked his agent to continue looking for new clubs that may wish to sign him.

So far the two most likely destinations are Villareal in Spain, or Nice in France. Inter would like to sell the player for around €8 million before June 30th but that is now looking very unlikely to happen.
