Inter are one of the multiple European teams chasing the Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir this summer after he impressed at EURO 2020, according to a report in the Turkish media today.

As has been reported by Turkish media outlet Sporx, Inter have entered the running for the goalkeeper along with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Marseille, and AS Roma.

Turkey had a very poor EURO 2020 campaign after being tipped by many to be the tournament’s surprise package. They were beaten 3-0 by Italy on the opening day, before then losing 2-0 to Wales in Baku and then 4-1 to Switzerland.

Despite that poor showing, the quality of goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir was clear for all to see. Inter may view him as the long term replacement to the ageing captain Samir Handanovic, who will soon turn 37-years-old.

Ugurcan Cakir would become second choice goalkeeper with Alex Cordaz likely becoming third choice should Ionut Radu be sold.
