Inter are about to focus on contract renewals for three of their key players to avoid any unwanted transfer surprises, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com today, the three players that Inter want to tie down to new contracts are midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella, as well as striker Lautaro Martinez.

The deal for Marcelo Brozovic is proving very tricky because his current contract expires in 2022. he would like to renew but he also feels he should receive a significant pay rise because of Paris Saint Germain’s interest in him and the fact that he has been a key player for many years. Meetings should occur next week with the agent.

Nicolo Barella should be more straightforward as he has no obvious issues with the club. The Nerazzurri want to protect him from potential transfer links.

Finally, Lautaro Martinez would rather sign a new deal than move to La Liga.
