Inter’s inability to sign Nahitan Nandez and include Radja Nainggolan in the deal could scupper the Belgian midfielders attempts to join Cagliari this summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport Italia, Inter are not in a position to meet Cagliari’s demands for Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez. His release clause is set at €36 million which is too high for Inter, but Radja Nainggolan could be included in a deal for Nahitan Nandez.

Even if Inter did have the cash to pay Cagliari whilst also giving them Radja Nainggolan, there is still the issue of severance pay between Inter and the player. The ex-AS Roma midfielder believes the club should pay him €700,000 in severance pay because he would be taking a pay cut to go to Cagliari, where he spent the previous two season on loan.

Cagliari also requires help from Inter as they can’t afford Radja Nainggolan’s wages.
