An ex-Inter academy graduate has expressed his delight at Inter winning the Scudetto for the first time since 2009/10, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Whilst doing an interview for Goal.com, Daniel Bessa explained how pleased he was to see his former club win the Serie A title for the first time since Jose Mourinho led the Nerazzurri to a league and UEFA Champions League double.

“Inter’s return to victory was nice, also to break the game cycle of Juventus. A club that formed me, I feel a lot of affection and spent many years there. I still have friends and I confess that I was happy and hoped they would win.”

Daniel Bessa never actually made a senior appearance for Inter but he did come through at the academy and clearly still holds a place in his heart for Inter.

The now 28-year-old midfielder had six different loan spells away from Inter whilst still being owned by them at clubs such as Como, Bologna, and Vicenza.

He eventually had a successful loan season at Hellas Verona in 2016/17, whom he then signed for on a permanent deal. He has scored nine goals for the club.
