Inter have reportedly joined Manchester City in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, with the player’s contract currently set to expire in June 2022.
This according to Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, who report that the 29-year-old could leave the Camp Nou in the summer, and the Nerazzurri are among his suitors.
The player’s current deal with the Blaugranas expires next summer, though it is thought that his preference is to stay in Barcelona, with the player waiting for a renewal offer from the Catalan giants.
Should one not arrive, however, he could be off this summer with his current club hoping to bring in a fee for him rather than lose his services for free next summer.
English champions Manchester City are thought to be one of the clubs most keenly interested in the Spaniard, but Inter reportedly also consider him a good replacement for Achraf Hakimi with the Moroccan soon to depart.
The Nerazzurri have been linked with multiple right-sided players in the window already with the club needing to bring in a player with the right profile to take over from Hakimi, and Roberto’s name can be added to the list.
